Matt climbed from p35 to the top 10 at Watkins Glen International. He reached p6 for his highest position in the race. Matt pitted on lap 47 and the caution came out while he was still on pit road. Matt had a solid performance at Pocono. After starting 34th on a Monday, he brought it across the finish line in the 28th position, finishing on the lead lap.

It was a disappointing week for the ScienceLogic #83 Toyota. The engine blew on lap 4. Onward to Pocono with E.J. Wade Construction.

Matt brought home his career best qualifying position of 16th. During the race, Matt struggled with a tight car but kept it out of trouble and crossed the checkered in 31st.
