September 4, 2016: Bojangles’ Southern 500

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (September 5, 2016) – Matt DiBenedetto, driver of the No. 83 Orange Crush Toyota Camry, finished the race in 26th position
“Our Orange Crush team did a great job throughout the race,” said DiBenedetto. “Gene (Nead, crew chief) and our guys made adjustments throughout the race and we managed to leave Darlington with a solid finish.”
After track activity was cancelled on Friday due to hurricane Hermine, NASCAR chose to line up the field by the driver point standings and give teams two practice sessions instead of qualifying on Saturday.
Clear skies and warm weather set the stage for the Southern 500 on Sunday evening. DiBenedetto fought for position early in the race as he was in need of adjustments to his Toyota Camry.
Strategic pit calls, solid adjustments and hard racing had the BK Racing car in p27 to start the final 12 lap shootout to the checkered flag. As the checkered flag flew, DiBenedetto brought home a 26th place finish for the Orange Crush team.
Up next, the BK Racing teams head to Richmond International Raceway for the Federated Auto Parts 400 on Saturday, September 10th with the green flag expected at 7:43 p.m. ET. Matt will be driving the No. 93 E.J. Wade and Union Bank Toyota Camry.
